I. Introduction
A National Movement
The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) inclusive crew project is part of a larger movement to take proactive steps to include corpsmembers of all abilities. The Minnesota Conservation Corps (MCC) has implemented a program that includes corpsmembers who are deaf and hard of hearing. Operation Fresh Start in Wisconsin has implemented a program to include corpsmembers with mental illness. Information on these programs is included in the appendices.
The UCC has worked in partnership with The Corps Network to develop the successful model described in this toolkit that will hopefully provide corps throughout the country with the resources and tools necessary to develop similar inclusive programs.
